In a series of conversations, Satprem relates his own life of adventure and search, his meeting with Sri Aurobindo and Mother and their profound, spiritual impact on his life’s purpose. Includes Mother’s transformational quest and the deeply relevant meaning of her discoveries for humanity.
When a child opens his eyes, he is always like the first human being in the world. And he says to himself, “What?” (without any words, of course; he IS a question). Man WAS a question. We thought we had to provide mental, intellectual answers to the question. But even after we provide all the answers, they still will not fulfill anything. For the question is about BEING.
As far back as I can remember, I see a child, on the seashore, gazing out…. Gazing at what? I don’t know, but gazing. His gaze is already a question. And our whole life is made of that very same thing which was there at the beginning, when we were looking at the little wave on the beach. It’s that same… yearning TOWARD something. And there comes a moment in life when that yearning is satisfied, fulfilled.
