Shobha Mitra

Shobha Mitra has been the head of the Indian music section at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram for decades. In 1942 she first met the Mother, and in 1951 she eventually came to settle permanently in the Ashram, while still a teenager. Dance and music were her primary interests, and later in the Ashram they became her field of work and sadhana. She has put down her memories in a book Living in The Presence, originally published in Bengali in 2012. The book contains some letters in Mother’s handwriting.
