Classic Texts on Ayurveda - General and Introductory Books on Ayurveda and Holistic Health
The ancient treatises of Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of holistic health, have been broadly classified into 2 groups, the Brihat Trayee (greater triad) and the Laghu Trayee (lesser triad). The texts of the Brihat Trayee are held in great esteem for their renowned authorship and their antiquity as the original texts of the Ayurvedic scriptures. The works of the Laghu Trayee are works of later authors, which contain the quintessence of the Brihat Trayee in more lucid terms, and for this reason are valued equally highly by both students and practioners of Ayurveda.
